
The Madison Historical Society will present a program marking the bicentenial of the War of 1812. The speaker will be former Madison High School history teacher and long-time friend of the Society, William R. “Bill” Chemerka. Mr. Chemerka will describe a nearly three year struggle that has sometimes been described as “America’s second war of independence." This will be the first of two Society programs this year marking the bicentennial of the War of 1812. The meeting will take place in the Chase Room of the Madison Public Library at 7:15 PM. Light refreshments will be served prior to the meeting.
