This will be the second of two programs from the Madison Historical Society marking the bicentenial of the War of 1812. Author and Madison resident, David Hanna, will discuss a naval battle that took place during the war in the waters off the state of Maine. Mr. Hanna was raised on the coast of the state and currently teaches history at Stuyvesant High School in New York City. In 2001, Hanna received the New York Times Teachers Make a Difference Award. His topic for the program is the subject of his recently published first book, " Knights of the Sea." The meeting will take place in the Chase Room of the Madison Public Library at 7:15 PM. Light refreshments will be served prior to the meeting.
